Over the upcoming ski season we’ll be asking staff and teachers about their favourite resorts so you can get the inside knowledge that may help you choose where to travel for the next ski season. First up is our Ski Tour Coordinator Michelle:

My favourite is the Salzburger Sportwelt in Austria which has a very good snow record and there are a variety of slopes which is great for progression. There’s plenty on the Salzburger Sportwelt circuit which covers Alpendorf, Wagrain and Flachau, but lots more for those who like to get extra mileage under their skis, all within reach on the same lift pass, including Radstadt, Zauchnsee and even Schladming.

Salzburger Sportwelt benefits from a great modern lift system with many heated chairs, prices are very reasonable and the ski schools are extremely accommodating. My tip for skiing is to stay in Flachau until your group has built confidence and is able to tackle the easy, wide red runs, and then start exploring the more challenging runs into Wagrain. Take your coach around to Alpendorf at least one day in the week and arrange for it to meet your group in Wagrain at the end of the day so your children get some achievement from travelling from resort to resort.

There’s lots to do in the area and plenty of accommodation types which suit most groups’ needs. The Wenghof is particularly excellent with clean and modern facilities and also with great home-cooked food!
